PCB manufacturing involves multiple high-temperature processes that require precise temperature control to ensure board quality, dimensional stability, and production efficiency. Industrial water chillers play a critical role throughout the PCB fabrication process.
1.Drilling and Routing (Spindle Cooling)
PCB drilling and routing machines use high-speed spindles that rotate at 20,000 – 300,000 RPM. These spindles generate significant heat, which can cause thermal expansion of the spindle shaft,premature bearing wear and spindle failure and burr formation and rough hole walls. Chiller could maintain constant spindle temperature for consistent hole diameter and position accuracy.
2. Lamination (Multilayer PCB Pressing)
Multilayer PCBs are created by stacking copper-clad laminates and prepreg (semi-cured resin) sheets, then pressing them under high temperature and pressure. After the pressing cycle, the stack must be cooled in a controlled manner to prevent warpage or delamination,ensure uniform resin flow and bonding and reduce cycle time for higher throughput

Electroplating baths generate heat from electrical resistance and chemical reactions. Uncontrolled temperature leads to uneven plating thickness,rough or nodular deposits,poor throwing power in high-aspect-ratio holes and accelerated bath additive decomposition
