Industrial process liquid cooling chillers are used for controlled cooling of products, mechanisms and machinery in a variety of industries. A chiller removes heat from the process water and transfers it to air via a heat exchanger.

The function of an industrial process liquid chiller is to move heat from one location (usually process equipment or product) to another place (usually the air outside the manufacturing facility). It is very common to use water or a water/glycol solution to transfer the heat to and from the chiller, which may require the process chiller to have a reservoir and pumping system. Regardless of your industry and process, making sure that you have sufficient cooling is critical to productivity and cost savings.

Exact application of the industrial process liquid cooling chiller

1. In the grinding machine industry, during the grinding process, the three roll machine will produce higher temperature during grinding. High temperature will affect the working efficiency of the machine, the quality of raw materials, and damage the equipment. At this time, it is often necessary to use a water chiller to reduce the temperature of the mill to protect the equipment.

3. In the packaging industry, after plastic packaging is heated, food and drugs on the production line need to be packaged. The chiller can reduce the temperature to the appropriate packaging temperature in the shortest time, thus greatly improving the work efficiency.

The internal stability of electronic components can be improved by cooling with a water chiller, so as to improve the qualification rate of products and reduce the cost of products.

There are two types of condensers used in chillers: air-cooled and water-cooled. An air-cooled condenser uses ambient air to cool and condense the hot refrigerant gas back down to a liquid. It can be located inside the chiller or can be remotely located outside, but ultimately it rejects the heat from the chiller to the air. In a water-cooled condenser, water from a cooling tower cools and condenses the refrigerant.

As the name suggests, water-cooled water chillers use water as the condensing medium. Since these types of chillers also use water as their cooling medium, two water loops exist in the system.

Water-cooled condensers typically operate with a cooling tower. Cooling towers are heat exchangers, but instead of the usual conduction-convection type of heat exchangers, it generates cooling by bringing water and air into contact. They supply cooling water to the condenser unit which is used to cool the refrigerant.

Water-cooled chillers are used in large industrial plants where a cooling water supply is readily available. Cooling is provided to the condenser at a much higher efficiency compared to air-cooled types.

The most common types of water chillers use water from an external tower to cool the gaseous refrigerant in the condenser. After expelling its heat, the refrigerant undergoes a phase change into a liquid and is recirculated into the system.

2.How to clean the chiller?

a.Chemical cleaning method:

The chemical cleaning of the condenser of the chiller is mainly to use the cleaning solution. First, use the acid solution to clean, then use the alkali solution to neutralize and clean, and use clean water to clean the acid and alkali solution.

The advantage of chemical cleaning of chiller condenser is thorough descaling, which reduces the workload of workers. The disadvantage is that the cleaning solution may corrode the condenser copper tubes, and the waste liquid discharged after cleaning is expensive. Pay attention to the solution proportion, circulation and immersion time during chemical cleaning to prevent condenser corrosion.

b.Physical cleaning method:

The physical cleaning of the condenser of the chiller is mainly performed by the flexible shaft brush. The flexible shaft is driven and rotated by the motor of the washing machine. There is a nylon brush in front of the flexible shaft. When in use, extend the flexible shaft and brush into the copper tube of the condenser, and remove the dirt in the copper tube through the high-speed rotary brush.

The advantage of physical cleaning is that it saves the cost of chemical cleaning solution, avoids the treatment of waste liquid after chemical cleaning, and is not easy to cause corrosion of condenser copper tubes. The disadvantage is that the cleaning effect is poor, and the cleaning operation is time-consuming and laborious.

If the condenser of the chiller has fine scale, it is recommended to combine chemical cleaning with physical cleaning. First immerse the condenser in the cleaning solution, and then remove the scale by physical cleaning after the scale is softened.

 

3.Solution to water leakage of industrial process chiller:

1. If the leakage of the industrial chiller is found to be caused by the crack or looseness of the drain nozzle cap in the interface, users can replace it by themselves;

2. The industrial chiller leaks because the water injection is too full. You can open the outlet of the industrial chiller to adjust the water level to the lowest level line of the water level gauge;

3. If the external connecting water pipe orifice of the industrial chiller is not smooth or the water pipe is broken or the size is not suitable for water leakage, the water pipe orifice can be repaired or the water pipe with a suitable size can be replaced.
